Nobel Biocare advanced the use of titanium for dental implants. Dr. Branemark was an orthopedic surgeon that noticed that titanium screws appears to fuse to the bone when compared to stainless steel screws.  His observations revolutionized the field of dental implants in cosmetic dentistry as well as in restorative dentistry.

What happens whena titanium dental implant is placed into the bone? 

When placed in bone... it appears that titanium fuses or bonds to the bone.  The cells of your bone grow into the irregularities of the dental implant and become what dentists have termed osseointegrated (fuses to the bone).

Osseointegration takes between three (3) and six (6) months to complete.  What is noticed is that when osseointegration occurs...there is no mobility of the implant and most of the time (with some exceptions) we can proceed to placing the crown or appliance on top of the implant.

Teeth-in-a-day does it work?  Maybe yes... maybe no

Teeth- in -a -day relies on the titanium screw being torqued down to certain tightness and then a crown "may" be placed on top.  In most instances a temporary crown is placed but permanent crown "may" be placed. In time, this may become more utilized by dentists but at this time... how tight the screw can be tightened down to is the key to teeth- in- a- day.
