Costs of Dental Implants Highlands Ranch Dentists (circa 2009)

Costs of Dental Implants at our Highlands Ranch Dental office for a single tooth can run "around" $4,500.00 per tooth (circa 2009) and in full mouth cases can range from $35,000.00 up to the price the cost of a luxury car or "more". Of course.... this depends on the requirements of the patient... some patients need more implants... some less. There are some  patients who are not candidates for dental implants.

Dental Implants reduce bone loss after tooth extraction

Dental implant also helps preserve bone.  When a tooth is extractedt the bone melts away without the stimulus of the tooth. The dental implant stimulates the bone and reduces the melting away of the bone.

Immediate placement and CAD/CAM diagnosis and treatment planning... Highlands Ranch Dentists

Computer Tomography Scans  (in this case a double scanning technique) are able to evaluate your bone density from radiographic guides allowing Dr's DeLapp et. al to evaluate the bone structure at a 3D level.

Procera CadDesign Software is an image based  computer program for planning and the orientation of dental implants.  It can also evaluate the bone density, and select the best "virtual implant" to be placed at the most ideal angle. This computer software is used to determine the most optimal area  for dental implant placements.  This software  takes into account bone density, anatomic differences, and where to place a crown.

Nobel-Biocare (the dental implant manufacturer) is able to fabricate a 3D surgical guide in placing dental  implants.  This has made dental implant placement much more predictable.

In order for dental implant crowns to be placed at the time of surgury requires that the dental implant(s) be tightened to a predetermined torque (tightness in neuton centimeters).  If the implant cannot be "tightened" to this level, the crown or prosthesis cannot be "loaded" (stress placed on it) and the patient and doctor need to wait until osseointegration (fusion) occurs. Osseo integration is best described as the process where the titanium screw actually fuses or bonds to the bone. This process can take between 3 months to 6 months or more. How rapidly the patient heals is the determining factor.

The field of dental implant placement and tooth replacement is an ever- evolving field. Highlands Ranch dentists Dr. James DeLapp and Dr. H. Candace DeLapp are life-long learners and attend numerous study clubs (Denver Implant Study Club e.g.) and continuing education courses.  What we knew 20 years ago has in most cases... been modified or... updated to techniques or materials that improve both the esthetics and longevity for our Highlands Ranch dental patients.
