What is Invisalign? Invisalign is a series of “aligners” (clear retainers) that you switch out about every two weeks. Each of these aligners is manufactured to move your teeth in very small increments (0.25mm or less)

Benefits of Invisalign
1. It is removable orthodontic appliance
2. It is customized for you
3. The aligners are very comfortable
4. The aligners are clear and “nearly” invisible
5. They are comfortable
6. They allow you to brush and floss your teeth normally
7. Invisalign has no metal brackets or wires

Invisalign not only has cosmetic advantages but it promotes dental health. Straighter teeth that are well aligned are much easier to brush and floss. These advantages “can” include:

1. Reduction in cavities especially between your teeth because
plaque and calculus is easier to remove on straight teeth.

2. Your gums can become much healthier. Gum disease (periodontal disease) can be worsened by teeth that are crowded or too widely spaced.

3. Since you can remove these aligners it is much easier to brush and floss when compared to traditional braces. With traditional braces (orthodontics) you need to use floss threader to get under the arch wire which most patients feel is time consuming…less effective… and frustrating.

4. Since Invisalign does not use metal bands and wiresfood does not trap as easily. It makes your dental cleanings (prophys) go easier as well as reduce the risk of plaque buildup… tooth decay and gum disease (periodontal disease).

Cost of Invisalign Cost of treatment varies by the complexity of the case. An average case runs around $4500 (circa 2008) with some cases costing more… and some less. With Invisalign treatment we also include with your last aligners or retainers, bleaching solution that can effectively whiten your teeth. This tooth whitening is normally a $500 value and works (on most patients) extremely well.

Alternatives to Invisalign. Alternatives to Invisalign treatment include but are not limited to:
1. No treatment… leaving your teeth as is
2. Traditional orthodontics because your case is just too complex
3. Cosmetic dental veneers or porcelain veneers

Complimentary Cosmetic Dentistry Consultation

3.I t gives the Dr’s James and Candace DeLapp the opportunity to evaluate the level of complexity of your case. Some orthodontic cases are complex and the Dr.’s Candace and James DeLapp can at least give you at least an “idea” of how complex your case will be and their recommendations for your best result.

4. Is our Highlands Ranch dental office convenient to you? Most of our dental patients come from the Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Castle Pine, Centennial area as well as the Englewood, and Arapahoe County area of the South Denver Metro Area.
